With great pleasure, the MIF announces that Dr. Carlos Cadena has completed his 6-month fellowship. The MIF held the ceremony on March 30, 2026.

Dr. Carlos Cadena (Colombia), Policy and Development Department, EAFIT University, has carried out his research under the supervision of Dr. Akiko Okabe at Department of Socio-Cultural Environmental Studies, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, The University of Tokyo.

On this day, Dr. Cadena visited the MIF office with his family to report on completing his fellowship, sharing what he has learned and experienced during his time in Japan. The MIF is pleased that not only did he conduct his research at the University of Tokyo, but he also had opportunities to meet professors from other Japanese universities, which will foster new collaborations between Japan and Colombia. The MIF is eager to see how he will apply his experience to benefit his community in Colombia. The MIF thanks Prof. Okabe for her effort in hosting him and making his time in Japan more fruitful.
