On December 27, 2019, a Graduation Ceremony, the last one for 2019, was held at the MIF Reception House and Chairperson HASHIMOTO directly presented Certificates of Accomplishment and Memorial Medals to the following 5 Fellows; Dr. KHIN TAR YAR MYINT from Republic of the Union of Myanmar who completed her research study at University of Miyazaki, Dr. Ahmed Abdelhamid Zaki DIAB from Arab Republic of Egypt who completed his research study at Kyushu University, Dr. Sadaf GUL from Islamic Republic of Pakistan who completed her research study at Yokohama National University, Dr. Pradip Kumar MAJI from India who completed his research study at Toyota Technological Institute and Dr. Ali Said Ahmed TAKEY also from Arab Republic of Egypt who completed his research study at Hiroshima University. Over the farewell luncheon table after the ceremony, all the Fellows expressed their thankfulness and promised to enhance the relationships among the existing Fellows and with MIF then, they took the return flights back to the respective home countries.

A Graduation Ceremony for Dr. Milica BALABAN who is from Bosnia and Herzegovina completed her research study at the University of Tokyo was held on the 20th of December at MIF’s reception house in Tokyo.  At the ceremony, Prof. HASHIMOTO, MIF’s Chairperson, directly presented the Certificate of Accomplishment and a memorial medal to the graduating Fellow. Then, Prof. HASHIMOTO hosted a farewell luncheon where the enhancement of the relationships among the Fellows and with MIF was confirmed.

MIF will be closed between December 28 (Sat) , 2019 and January 5 (Sun), 2020.

MIF wishes you a Happy New Year!


The 3rd MIF Study Tour for the Academic Year 2019 was organized between December 1st and 4th, 2019. 9 MIF Fellows from India, Cameroon, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bangladesh, the Philippines Ethiopia and Tunisia visited Kyoto, Nara, Miyajima Island and Hiroshima. At the dinner on the third day in Hiroshima, Chairperson HASHIMOTO, who was born in Hiroshima, joined the tour and mingled with the participating Fellows.

This tour is organized by MIF annually and it gives important opportunities for the Fellows to understand the cultures and tradition of Japan and think profoundly about the meaning of world peace.
